Santa Cruz Bicycles was founded in 1994 in a space not much bigger  than a two car garage at 104 Bronson Street in Santa Cruz, California.  The Seabright Cannery industrial complex was also home to our  compatriots at Santa Cruz Skateboards, RockShox, a surfboard shaper, two  bakeries, a salsa company, multiple artists studios, a coffee roaster, a  climbing gym, and other assorted riff-raff. Quite an eclectic, but very  creative environment.

Our first bike model was the Tazmon—an 80mm  travel, dual-suspension bike that rattled established sensibilities,  and launched the Santa Cruz Bicycles brand into the full-suspension  future. 30 years and 89 bike models later, we’re still pushing the  envelope while remaining simply advanced. 

Marin Bikes are Made For Fun. Since the first mountain bikes bearing  the Marin Bikes name debuted in 1986, the brand has been dedicated to  enriching the lives of our riders by making fun, high caliber bicycles,  which provide years of riding enjoyment. We operate a business based on  hard work, fueled by passion, and fulfilled by the satisfaction of  bringing the joy of cycling to riders across the world.

Whether  your idea of fun involves riding rugged trails to that high alpine lake,  pinning on a race number and entering your first race, taking the long  way home on your commuter bike, bikepacking to that remote campsite, or  just exploring the neighborhood bike paths, Marin brings the fun to your  ride. I saw an opportunity to create my own brand of bikes that were high  quality, looked great and – most importantly – were affordable and made  it easier for everyone to get riding.
